President Alberto Fernández took the oath of Agustín Rossi as his new Chief of Staff.
Rossi thus replaces Juan Manzur, who left office to join the electoral campaign in his province, Tucumán.
The new Chief of Cabinet was the head of the Federal Intelligence Agency until last week.
At the swear-in, the Head of State recalled his friendship with Rossi dating back to the presidency of the late Néstor Kirchner, of whom Mr Fernández was Chief of Staff between 2003 and 2007.
