CHAPTER 3 RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Argentina Sessions: Nicki Nicole

Rosario is an Argentine port city, competing for the title of second most-populated city in Argentina with Córdoba.

It is located in the southeast of the province of Santa Fe, about 300 kilometers from Buenos Aires, up the Paraná River.

Rosario is the birthplace of Lionel Messi, Ernesto Che Guevara and musicians Fito Paez, Litto Nebbia, Juan Carlos Baglietto, as well as cartoonist Roberto Fontanarrosa and comedian Alberto Olmedo.

The Argentine flag was born there. In 1812, national hero Manuel Belgrano first waved it in that place.

Also from Rosario is Nicki Nicole, one of the main figures of today's new Argentine music, she is only 22.

The artist, whose real name is Nicole Denis Cucco, began her career in 2019 with "Wapo Traketero", a song written and recorded with very few resources, which reached millions of listens in a short time.

From that moment until today, Nicki released three albums. After "Recuerdos" ("Memories"), she released "Parte de mí" ("Part of Me") and "Alma".

In the meantime, she participated in the "Tiny Desk" series and was nominated for a Latin Grammy as Best New Artist along with other Argentines, Wos, Cazzu, Nathy Peluso and the group Conociendo Rusia.

She also won two Spotify Awards, two Gardel Awards, Los 40 Music Awards, one "Lo Nuestro"
Awards, and two "Quiero" Awards.

SHE also received nominations for the Martín Fierro Digital, MTV Europe Music Awards and MTV Millenial Awards. And thus SHE added millions of plays of HER songs.

Nicki Nicole is an Argentine woman like Eva Perón, the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, María Elena Walsh, Juana Azurduy and Alfonsina Storni.

She is from the country of the green tide, a girl-driven revolution that fought for the right to legal and free abortions.

And she makes trap music with a particular sense: her style fuses musical styles. One of HER latest tracks, for example, is a mix of HER sound with salsa.
