In Argentina’s Northwest, about 1000 kilometers from Argentina, there’s the province of Santiago del Estero, a vast plain where Spaniards founded the first city in what would become our country. It was in 1553, in a territory occupied until then by various native communities that worked on farming, pottery and knitting. From the fusion of native and Spanish traditions, and later those of African slaves, comes the Chacarera, one of the most popular Folk genres in our country....
