Argentine President Alberto Fernández was received at the White House by his US counterpart, Joe Biden.
The South American leader thanked Washington for its support in the negotiations with international credit organisations to pay off Argentina's debt.
Mr. Fernández also valued the donation of vaccines against the coronavirus made by the US.
He also said that he shared Biden's concern about climate change, pointing out that Argentina is experiencing the worst drought in decades.
The President also invited his US counterpart to "work together" for the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
For his part, Biden highlighted the agreement between Washington and Buenos Aires in condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
He also listed the possibilities for growth in the bilateral economic relationship.
