The Casa Rosada ruled out that President Alberto Fernández will travel to Qatar to watch the final between Argentina and France.

The same sources informed that the representative of Buenos Aires at Lusail Stadium will be the Argentine ambassador in Doha, Guillermo Nicolás.

The clarification comes after rumors about a possible presence of the Argentine leader, to follow the final together with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

The European Head of State already attended the semi-final in which his country's national team won 2-0 over Morocco.

Argentine government sources said that Mr Fernandez will watch this Sunday's match on television, as he did with all the matches played by Argentina in the World Cup.
