During his visit to New York, president Alberto Fernández met with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
The Argentine Head of State was invited by his French peer to a dinner with seven other leaders to discuss energy issues.
In that framework, Fernández and Macron made a joint call for peace in Ukraine.
After the meeting, the President expressed on social networks: "a pleasure to be with you again, dear friend Macron... We both know that peace is urgent and necessary. Thank you for this invitation".
It is worth mentioning that, earlier, the Argentine Head of State had taken part in the World Summit on Food Security at the invitation of the Spanish Premier, Pedro Sánchez.
In this context, Mr Fernández warned that hunger in the world "did not start" with the war in Ukraine, but "has to do with a capitalist system that expels and marginalizes".
