The Argentine Agency for International Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance - White Helmets (ACIAH) formally offered help to the Turkish and Syrian governments.
Argentine Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero had instructed the agency to put at the disposal of Ankara and Damascus healthcare teams, as well as personnel experienced in post-traumatic psycho-social containment and management of donations.
In addition, Argentina offers Turkey and Syria water purification tablets and disinfectants.
This is done in coordination with the United Nations.
Buenos Aires responded this way to a call for international help made by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, following the 7.8 - magnitude earthquake that left at least 5000 dead.
